I realize it's pretty early for the sprinters to be suiting up for sprint workouts but just thought I'd pass along the word that I plan to begin formal training this season in mid- to- late October in case any of you are curious. If you have not done so already, please contact me at this address (ryancarroll89@hotmail.com) if you are interested in joining the sprinters this season as I generally keep a separate email list for them to avoid spamming the distance runners.

Finalized Fall Schedule and Start of Men's Team Practice

Hey Cows!

First off, after taking into consideration responses to a previous email I sent out with multiple fall meet options available, we've posted on the website a finalized fall cross country schedule on the left. These are mostly meets which we have generally enjoyed the most in the past and for which there is good competition to run against. If you have an interest in running in any other meets not posted on the website, please let me know, and we will arrange entry to it (and perhaps ask you to help do so).

Also, A number of people have been inquiring about the start date for WTC Men's team practice, so I figured I'd include information to fill everyone in.

Although I won't be there, there will be a group meeting at the corner of Breese and Regent (by the big football statue) at 6pm tonight. Beginning tomorrow, we will return to the normal time and place, which is 5:15pm at the corner of Park and Langdon (by Memorial Union).

There has also been some interest in driving out to check out the UW's new home course either Friday, or sometime this weekend. We can discuss this option when we meet tomorrow before the run. If you can't make it Thursday, but would like to come out and check out the UW course (where we will be running our first meet on Friday, September 4th), shoot me an email and I will fill you in on the plan.

Starting next week, we will meet Monday - Thursday at the corner of Park and Langdon at 5:15pm, with workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays and group runs on Mondays and Wednesdays. You can also expect to see emails concerning location and time for Saturday and Sunday morning runs, for those interested, which are usually sent out the Thursday or Friday before.

I have also been in contact with Women's coach Ana Considine, and an email regarding start date and time of Women's practices will be coming soon. Other emails to look for will include info about volunteering for the Iron Man (Sunday, September 13th), getting registered for the home meet hosted by the UW, and time and location of the 2009 WTC Kickoff Meeting.

See you all soon (if I haven't already)!
