The best way to get involved with the WTC is to get on our email list, come to our info Kickoff meeting (see below) or just come to one of our practices. To get on the WTC email list simply send a blank email to wtc-cross-subscribe@yahoogroups.com We send out the majority of the information about WTC, practices races and events through this email list. Below is an outline of our 2011 cross country season.
KICKOFF
There will be an informational meeting on Thursday September 15th. Meet at 5:15 at the corner of Park and Langdon for a workout, then, at 7:00 there will be free pizza and an informational meeting at the bottom of Bascom Hill! Feel free to just stop by for just the meeting and free pizza if you are not interested in the workout that day.
PRACTICE
First Cross Country Practice: Wednesday Aug 31 at the corner of Park and Langdon
Mondays and Wednesdays (Guys and Girls) - meet at the corner of Park and Langdon at 5:15 near Memorial Union for runs. The length of these runs usually vary from 5-10 miles and the route is decided when we meet at Park and Langdon.
Tuesdays and Thursdays Workouts (Guys and Girls) - Again meet at 5:15 at the corner of Park and Langdon to run to the workout location. The Guys and Girls usually do workouts separately and the workout locations will be sent out via the WTC email list before each practice.
Also, no practices are required and we do not take attendance so feel free to show up for any or all club practices, events or races.
The outdoor track is off limits to the average student; however, the Wisconsin Track Club rents it for our use Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8/30 to 11/8, 5:45 - 7:00 pm. During these times the gates should be open and the track will be available to all WTC members.

WTC CROSS COUNTRY 2011 EVENTS
Camping Trip:
In previous years the WTC has gone on a camping trip after one of our early cross country meets. There will be information released about the camping trip (assuming there is enough interest) in the upcoming weeks.
Roy Griak:
We will be leaving Madison on the evening of the 23rd and racing on the 24th. Since quite a few people live in the Twin Cities, there will most likely be cars heading back to Madison after the meet and additional cars on Sunday.
NIRCA Regionals:
We will most likely be leaving Madison mid-day Friday October 28th to head down to Columbia, MO (7.5 hour drive). It is important to note that this will be Halloween weekend, but our club must attend this meet if we want to go to nationals.
NIRCA Nationals:
Leave Madison on Thursday November 10th drive about ½ way and stay overnight on the road. Arrive at Charlotte, NC on November 11 mid to late afternoon so we can run the course. Race on November 12th and start on our way home after awards. Arrive back in Madison sometime on the 13th.
WTC Formal:
More information to be released in the upcoming months. The formal will most likely will occur between nationals and the end of the fall semester.
